I am so excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Brewster Elementary School. I am honored to have been selected to join Regional School District 13, which I am quickly coming to know as a warm, friendly, and family-orientated district. Over the past 23 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend much time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles, and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
This summer, I have had the opportunity to meet many fabulous families, students, and staff here at Brewster School. Many have shared their favorite Brewster stories and their hopes and dreams for the future of Brewster. I, too, would like to share my hopes and dreams for Brewster and the RSD 13 community.
In partnership, it is my hope we strive to provide our children with experiences that foster the values and beliefs that are firmly embedded in our two communities. My hope is that we continue to encourage our young learners to become global citizens that have empathy and compassion for their fellow citizens. I dream of a community that continues to be united and embraces each other's strengths and share in each other's identities through the traditions and pride that RSD 13 embodies. Together we can be united for the success of all students by providing rigorous experiential learning that incorporates student voice, choice, and opportunity to serve in their community.
Brewster School and the RSD 13 community is thriving with traditions and history that puts them in the perfect place to continue creating schools that exemplify all the values that produce learners ready for the 21st century!
We at Brewster School are lucky to be a part of this beautiful community. I look forward to getting to know Brewster students, teachers, staff, and families. My door is always open, and I encourage dialogue that is focused on making our school even better. On behalf of the entire Brewster staff, here's to a successful 2019-20 school year!
Through engagement in authentic learning all Regional School District 13 students are empowered to thrive and contribute as global citizens.
